If you read my last blog post, you know that Mr. Light Shine worked (again) this summer to provide a phenomenal camp experience to our under-served neighbors with Camp Skillz. In a totally unexpected turn of events, our family is blessed to be a part of providing English classes to the enthusiastic parents of these campers. To read more about these ELL (English Language Learner) classes, checkout the article over at Global Outreach Developments International.
We are truly so excited for this opportunity to serve. Our oldest daughter, Sarieli, is anxiously waiting for fall break in just a couple weeks as we’ve promised that we’ll take the whole family to go help daddy and the team with these classes (the 7-9pm time-frame hasn’t let me get the kids out there yet). It’s moments like this when we can involve our kids in ministry that help them solidify the lessons they’ve been hearing. They know I’ve been making and sending baked goods to “daddy’s English classes” for the past month, but who eats them? And what do you mean they are our neighbors? And why do they want to learn English? These are wonderful conversations we have been having and I’m greatly anticipating the moment when our kids get to participate in the special moment that’s happening out in Madison every Tuesday night.
As always, thank you for helping us do what we love. :)
